While it seems like most everyone is busy decorating for Easter/Spring I just can’t let my beloved St. Patrick’s Day pass me by. As a redhead with Irish roots, I’ve always loved St. Patrick’s Day. For years on March 17th, I’ve been dying my food green and pinching all those non-green wearers. As far as decor goes, I will admit, It’s not the chicest of holidays. Stores line their shelves with goofy cartoon leprechauns, plastic pots of gold, and four leaf clover garland. I like to take a more understated approach. This year, I made my own burlap bunting and gold dipped letters. It was super simple and doesn’t scream ST. PATRICK’S DAY at you. And yes, there is actually some green in there!
It’s hard to tell from the picture but instead of just using gold paint, I covered the letters with gold glitter. It gives the letters some texture and a little extra sparkle. I just painted a little Mod Podge at the bottom and poured the glitter over the glue.

I know!?! Everyone is on the Spring/Easter bandwagon…it’s nice to see some St. Patty’s Day love. The dipped letters are perfect…I think they could stay out all year long!

Thanks Jesse! I think a lot of people avoid decorating for St. Patty’s because the decorations are so ugly. This is definitely a DIY decor holiday!
I love this! I love St. Pat’s, but I agree most of the decorations are so flashy and cheap. The glitter dipped letters are great

Thanks Meg!
This looks great. St. Patty’s gone chic! I love the contrast of gold glitter with burlap.

Isn’t burlap the best?? I’m pretty sure you could use it for almost anything!
I love it! I never decorate for St. Patty’s day for the same reason, but your decor is perfect! You got the point across without going overboard. I really love it!! And I love the detail on the letters. Super cute!

I think you’re in the majority with the St. Patty’s day decorating! Thanks for stopping by!!
C-U-TE! So stylish. I hate cheesy decor and this certainly is not! may have to steal your idea and make some for myself…but not until I’m done painting our kitchen cabinets. I was thinking the word “green” would be fitting for st. patty’s day and spring!

GREEN would be so cute! And would last past St. Patty’s too. Good luck with those cabinets! You are brave girl!!
Beautiful DIY and styling Sarah. Love your cabinets and table lamps too. Happy St Patrick’s day on the 17th! xx

Love your St. Patty’s decor. I like how you used gold glitter on the base of the letters. An unexpected twist, which I always love to see!
I think I could dip pretty much anything in gold paint or glitter! Thanks for taking a peek Jennifer!
Coming over from Tatertots and Jello….this looks great! Definitely an improvement over cartoon leprechauns
