On Target

 On Target

Have you walked through the home decor isles at Target lately? I usually make it there once a month or so and every time I am pleasantly surprised with a new item or an entirely new collection. When Target announced last May that they were coming out with a new in-house line of products called “Threshold”, I wasn’t holding my breath. No offense Target, but you have never been at the top of my affordable decor source list. But when the products started hitting shelves last September, I was more than happy to say I was wrong. The new product line incorporates Native American patterns, menswear stripes, equestrian motifs, brass accents, and a prominent emphasis on texture. A big W in the win column for Target.

In late December, Target quietly rolled out their newest Threshold line, “Modern Cottage Collection.” Again, I found myself eating my words and scooping up a few items from the line. Priced from $9.99-129.99, the products are markedly more modern than those in the Threshold collection and offer pops of bright coral and aqua mixed with black, white, and gray. The geometric prints, mirrored accents, and Asian influenced details have been a big hit with consumers thus far and it’s easy to see that Target has really stepped up their home decor game.

Target has announced that there will a larger debut of new items from their Threshold collection this spring and I can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeve. I am always a big fan of great design that is accessible to the masses and I’m so glad Target is doing their part to help those of us on a budget pretty up our homes without breaking the bank.

Isn’t it great? I remember just a few years ago walking through the home section thinking why in the world can’t they make things that don’t scream, “I bought this for $20.” I have a Threshold vase that gets more compliments than anything in my house. And I did buy that for $22. Love it!

I am seriously in love with this whole line & I am loving the fact that Target has stepped it up. My sweet hubby has banned me from going there more than once a month because I ALWAYS come home with items that were not on my shopping list to begin with. lol. I tried to explain to him that you cannot just pass up a great cockatiel lamp!?! lol…I’m happy to say that the cockatiel lamp won him over, too. ;)

That is so funny!! I haven’t been put on a ban yet, but I feel it coming soon. I try to space out my binges so they’re not as noticeable. I’ll go for toothpaste and come home with a throw, mirror , and pillow. Oopsies! That cockatiel lamp is so awesome, I don’t blame you for snagging it. Good thing hubby was on board too!

I’ve purposely NOT walked through those aisles at Target because I’m trying not to buy anything else for our house for awhile. The clearance section always gets me on the impulse buys!

Ugh that clearance isle always gets me too. You have a lot of willpower to not even look! I usually buy something thinking that if I don’t HAVE to have it I can return it. I’ve still yet to return anything. ;-)
