PAINT, PAINT, PAINT! One of my favorite (and easiest) ways to change the look and feel of a room. The best part about paint is that if you choose the wrong color, you only wasted about $25 (or even less if you bought a sample first).
While moving into our new house we noticed that the previous resident had left behind a few things. A Santa Fe wooden coyote statue, some miscellaneous dish ware, and a TV mount. After giving back the coyote and the dishes, the old tenant told us the mount was ours; which from my husbands point of view was AWESOME. For me, all I could see was that the mount wasn’t centered on the wall. After months of avoiding the wall, I decided the easiest fix was paint. Stripes to be exact.

Since the mount is off-center horizontally, painting vertical stripes would only emphasize the positioning of the TV. Instead of using a pattern of uniform width stripes, I decided to go with random, varying widths to create more visual interest. Choosing the paint color order was the most fun because there are so many options and really no way to mess it up. The colors were from Martha Stewart and Behr, both available at Home Depot.
